This Neutrik Rean NYS208 Right Angled TRS Connector is for excellent durability and EMI protection.
Neutrik Rean NYS208 Right Angled TRS Connector are rather large. Slightly bigger than a more conventional right angle 1/4″ jack.
The design seemed good to me until I soldered one.
The Neutrik Rean NYS208 Right Angled TRS Connector has to thread through a hole. The hole is plenty large, but it makes the soldering job more difficult.
Neutrik Rean NYS208 Right Angled TRS Connector has a 3-part assembly: male jack with TRS terminals, back cover and threaded sleeve. There is a ring in the body of the jack with sleeve threads.
The main problem with the design is that the Sleeve of the TRS remains encased at the bottom of the half-round metallic body.
In a conventional design, there are only two parts:
jack assembly and jacket. The threaded ring is between the male jack and the solder terminals. So the solder area is easier to access. In summary, a conventional TRS jack, either straight or angled, has connections which are more accessible.
Right-angle TRS Connector Features
- 3-pole 1/4″ right-angle TRS cable mount connector
- Durable metal housing and plastic bushing
