- Built to delivery high performance for a variety of tasks, including a boot drive, scratch disk, or media storage, the M.2 4×4 PCIe 3.0 x16 Card from Sonnet supports a maximum of four M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe M.2 SSDs. It devotes four lanes of PCIe 3.0 bandwidth to each SSD, which delivers RAID 0 speeds of up to 8500 MB/s and aggregate transfer speeds from non-RAIDed SSDs of up to 12,000 MB/s. It is compatible with mid-2010 and mid-2010 Mac Pro Tower systems with a model identifier of MacPro5,1 and Windows desktops, both of which require a free PCIe x16 slot for use. It will also work with Sonnet’s Thunderbolt to PCIe expansion chassis systems, such as the Echo Express III-D, III-R, or xMac.
