The Universal Audio 6176 Channel Strip Mic Preamp combines the alluring, all-tube sounds of the legendary Bill Putnam-designed 610 microphone preamp, with the signature FET compression of our 1176LN, to create the ultimate recording channel strip.
The warm, smooth tones of this mic preamp design — employed to record everyone from Frank Sinatra to Van Halen — and the unique characteristics of the compressor, are two major reasons why the 6176 is found in studios around the world.
The Universal Audio 6176 Channel Strip Mic Preamp combines two pro audio legends — the 610 mic/line tube preamp and the 1176LN solid-state compressor/limiter — to create what may be the ultimate channel strip.
The preamp section is packed with features, such as mic, line, and hi-Z inputs; two bands of shelving EQ; and a 15dB pad. The dynamics section maintains all the classic features found on the classic 1176LN.
Audio Channel Strip with 610B Microphone dedicated ins and outs and can be used independently in Split mode or in series in Join mode via a front-panel switch.
