Zoom XYH-5 X/Y Microphone Capsule for Zoom H5 and H6 Field Recorders

The Zoom XYH-5 X/Y Microphone Capsule for Zoom H5 and H6 Field Recorders is an interchangeable component in Zoom’s H5 and H6 modular recorder system.

Zoom XYH-5 X/Y Microphone Capsule provides two, matched, unidirectional condenser microphones set at a 90 degree angle, features a built-in shockmount system, and a maximum SPL of 140dB.

Additionally, the recorder is equipped with two inputs for external sources, allowing you to record simultaneously with the included stereo XY mic for a total of four input channels. Each input is controllable by its own analog gain knob and also has a -20dB pad.

The Zoom XYH-5 X/Y Microphone Capsule provides two matched unidirectional condenser microphones set at a 90 degree angle.

These mics are housed within an advanced shockmount that employs rugged external mic wires and rubberized material to minimize vibration and handling noise, making the XYH-5 ideal for location videography and live broadcast/podcast applications.

The design of the Zoom XYH-5 X/Y Microphone Capsule also allows it to handle extremely loud sounds—140 dB SPL,

to be precise (equivalent to the sound of a jet aircraft from less than 200 feet away)—making it perfect for capturing the sound of live rock concerts and for electronic news gathering.
